Effective date: September 15, 2026 — Owable is operated by Ruterana, a company registered in Uganda.
Owable is a record-keeping and reminder tool for tracking rent and loans owed to you. Owable does not process, hold, or transmit payments between you and the people who owe you money — you and they arrange and complete payment entirely outside Owable.
You must be at least 18 to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
When you add a tenant, borrower, or other entry, you are entering personal and financial information about someone else. By using Owable, you confirm that you have a lawful basis to collect, store, and process that person's information, and that you will use it only for the purpose of tracking and collecting amounts legitimately owed to you. You are solely responsible for your own compliance with data protection, tenancy, and lending laws that apply to you.
Owable sends email and, where configured, WhatsApp reminders as a convenience. Delivery depends on third-party services (email providers, WhatsApp/Meta, spam filters, phone carriers) that are outside our control. We do not guarantee that any reminder will be delivered, read, or acted on, and we are not liable for missed or late payments resulting from an undelivered reminder.
Don't use Owable to harass, threaten, or defraud anyone, to track debts you have no legitimate right to collect, or to store information you aren't legally permitted to hold.
Owable is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ruterana is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost rent, lost loan repayments, or disputes with tenants or borrowers arising from your use of the service.
You may stop using Owable at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for unlawful debt collection.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
